Interested in volunteering at the school library?

Thank you to everyone who has already expressed interest!

Mrs. Healy needs volunteers to help students find books they would like to borrow, check them in and out, and re-shelve them. It’s a great way to be involved with your child’s class!

The library sessions are once a week for half an hour but you can choose how often you would like to help. If you would like to volunteer, please register here (http://www.shongumpto.org/library-volunteer-sign-up/) and select your child’s class and how often you are able to help.

Volunteers from previous years may start helping out right away, but please be sure to sign up so that your email address can be added to the group list for important notifications. Please sign up by 09/30.

New volunteers will be invited to a library training session in early October (date TBD). Once you have attended this orientation you will be able to start volunteering!

We are looking forward to meeting you! Please reach out to Reena Norton at reena.masih@gmail.com with any questions.

Please see the note below from the PTO Council:

The Randolph PTO Council is dedicated to facilitating programs that benefit both students and faculty in our district schools and believe that the referendum is vital to that purpose. As an organization, we stand behind the Randolph Schools Referendum, whole-heartedly. The members of our council are in the schools on a daily basis and see what improvements are needed and wanted. With that unique perspective, PTO Council members have been a part of the referendum process from the very beginning, serving on the task force requested by the Board of Ed to evaluate all facilities owned by the district.

As part of this task force, we had the opportunity to report back to the Board and make recommendations on what improvements our schools need most to create the most synergies and opportunities for our district. We believe the resulting referendum will provide much needed enhancements, benefitting the entire school community. As parents and teachers, the success, safety and well being of Randolph’s students are our priority. This referendum will provide improved safety and security; enhanced facilities for academic and extracurricular activities; and greatly needed maintenance. Additionally, the new spaces created would enable the district to expand class and extracurricular offerings, including trade programs.

Some of the key projects included in the referendum are: • Security vestibules • Upgraded alarm systems • Renovation of under-utilized space into storage and functional space • Updated Middle School culinary arts room • Modernization of High School science classrooms, including safety upgrades • Improved High School music rooms, with better acoustics and practice rooms • A new field house/student activities center at Bauer Field, with new locker rooms; meeting rooms; large multipurpose rooms; a clean, safe concession stand; a weight room; and ADA compliant public restrooms

The Referendum is a giant step toward preparing for the continued success of current and future students and families. We take pride in our schools and so should you! Please get out and vote on October 2nd.

Wrestling Clinic: With 35 new grapplers joining our teams from last year’s clinic, a great season on the mats and a few new coaches we are looking to introduce more young boys and girls to our favorite sport. So your Randolph Rec Wrestling Team is holding our 2nd Annual “FREE” Intro to Wrestling Clinic on Sunday October 21st.

Who: This is a casual and fun event focusing on K-8th Grade Boys and Girls and their Parents to learn more about the sport of wrestling. So No experience is required… ACTUALLY NO EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED!

Why: Wrestling gives your child the best chance for success because practices and competitions are based on 3 basic criteria…

1. Experience

2. Age

3. Weight

What: We will start with a meet and greet with your coaches, board and a few active wrestlers. Our board will be breaking off with parents to discuss practices, events and how wrestling can improve self-confidence, discipline, grades and of course other sports. This will be followed by a few exhibitions demonstrating techniques and drills followed by a 30-40 minute workout and wrapping up with one of the fun games we close our regular practices with.

Equipment: Bring your sneakers, shorts or sweats and a t-shirt and of course a desire to learn more about wrestling!

When: Sunday, October 21st from 10am until 12 Noon.

Where: Randolph Middle School Main Gym
