The 5th Grade Pool Party was a splash at Streeter Pool!! With the luck of a hot, sunny day and so many hard working volunteers, our 5th grade teachers and students had a chance to celebrate with a B-B-Q , DJ and plenty of pool fun.Thank you to co-chairs Elisa LaPietra, Meghan Stokoe and Marie Lachanski for heading up this event and going way above and beyond when we needed to change the venue of the pool party. Thank you to the Pool Party committee for amazing planning at every turn: Ellyn Corsaro, Paige Piarulli, Nancy Breen, Christine Kress, Kerri Novak and Christine Naumilkat. Money For Nothing: We are sad to announce that the Labels for Education program is ending this summer. Families have until June 9 to turn in any remaining Labels for Education and they will be redeemed for points that the PTO will use to buy supplies for our school. In order for us to redeem them, you must turn in both the LFE logo and the attached bar code. LFE can be submitted in the usual manner by either dropping them in the Box Tops bin in the office or giving them to your child’s teacher. Thank you to the entire Shongum community for collecting Labels for Education for so many years. This program has been beneficial to Shongum and it will be missed.
New Student Scavenger Hunt: We are looking for volunteers for the New Student Scavenger Hunt which is scheduled for the evening of September 5. This is a wonderful event that welcomes new students and families to Shongum School. It’s our chance to help the students learn their way around the school, to calm some first-day jitters, and to let the new families know what a great school community we have at Shongum. We are looking for volunteers to help us decorate prior to the scavenger hunt and for people to man stations around the school during the event. Volunteers are welcome to bring their kids along. It’s always nice for the new students to meet fellow Skyhawks. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact Vikki Fordahl at vfordahl@gmail.com.
Excuse Pads: Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

There’s NO EXCUSE to run out of Excuse pads this year!
