What’s new for Spiritwear? We have changed the design on the boys socks and the sweaty bands and added flannel pants!! We kept our hot selling items the same, so if you need a larger soze for next year, now is the time to buy! Spirit wear forms are due on June 1st!!! Shongum 5th Grade Dance

Attention 5th parents – get your child ready for a night of dancing, fun, and a good time with friends! The 5th Grade dance will be held on Friday, June 5th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Shongum. Shongum K-Kids

The next K-Kids meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 20th from 3:15-3:45 in Room 1. We will be discussing Memorial Day and doing something nice for our servicemen. If you are able to donate a non-perishable item for the food pantry, it would be much appreciated. Shongum’s Mother’s Day Flower Sale

Shongum’s annual Mother’s Day Flower sale will be this week on Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th. We are happy to announce some exciting changes:
**NEW**INDIVIDUAL CUT FLOWERS FOR $1 EACH – During student lunches on May 7th and 8th, students can buy Mom, Grandma, or someone special their very own carnation, wrapped with a gift tag and water tube to keep it fresh. Shongum’s own Ivanna D’Andrea is designing the look, so you know it’s going to be adorable! Since the flowers will be easier to take home and keep, we are hoping this sale will be a great success! Kindergarten – we will bring the flower sale to you in your classrooms. 
HANGING BASKET SALE THIS YEAR – ONLY $15 EACH – Also new this year, we will be selling hanging flower baskets at lunch and after school during pick-up on May 7th and 8th. THEY ARE ONLY $15 – WOW!!! An assortment of flowers – easy to just carry home. Please stop by and pick out something wonderful to take home or give to someone special. (This replaces last year’s plant sale.)
ALSO – Volunteers are needed to sell during lunch periods on Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th. You can take any slot you want. Please drop a note with a date and lunch time that works for you to Lisa Padewski at littlerubes@yahoo.com. As always, thank you for your unwavering support!

5th Grade Event at Stardust Pool

Can you believe it’s almost time for the 5th Grade Event??? Mark your calendars now for this wonderful celebration for your 5th grader. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd (rain date Thursday, June 4th) at Stardust Pool. Shongum celebrates Earth Week 2015

Earth Day is April 22nd, and in honor of our beautiful planet, Shongum School will be celebrating Earth Week April 20-24th. It will be a week of fun activities, and will end in true Shongum fashion with “Go Green” day on Friday the 24th, when students are encouraged to wear green and show their school spirit! 5th Grade Variety Show

5th Grade parents – mark your calendars now for a fun night out with the best talent in town! The 5th Grade Variety show will take place on Friday, April 24th. The theme for this year’s variety show is The “S” Factor! The students have been working hard and are awaiting show day! Please note beginning tomorrow, April 13th, all participants in the show (performers, stage crew, judges, emcees, etc)  are urged to attend the remaining practices. We look forward to working with you on making this show a night to remember and a huge success. If you haven’t already done so, please hand in your booster forms! Don’t miss the opportunity to congratulate your child on a job well done!

Shongum K-kids/GOTR Bake Sale

Shongum K-kids club and Girls on the Run are joining together to work on the project “Pennies for Patients”. This organizations helps children and their families that are battling Leukemia and Lymphoma blood diseases. K-kids and GOTR are organizing a bake sale to take place during the days of the conferences this week. Shongum Food Drive 2015

Shongum School will once again be holding it’s annual food drive benefitting the Randolph Food Pantry. Beginning Monday, March 16th, boxes will be set up in the lobby of Shongum to collected donated items. Requested items for this month include cereal, oatmeal, soups, paper products, canned meats, canned fruits, peanut butter and jelly, coffee, tea, and powdered milk.
